The University of the Philippines (UP) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) on December 12, 2023, Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. at the University Theater, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The symposium, organized by both institutions, will discuss the role of the Philippines in the sharing of the international human rights framework, with a focus on UP alumnus and former United Nations General Assembly President Carlos P. Romulo’s contributions in the preparation of the UDHR.
The event will also showcase the contributions of other Filipinos in international human rights treaties and mechanisms, particularly those in the United Nations.
